Brief Description:  Snorkel and Baffeling

Rob sent me a text on Friday morning and said he would be getting off work just after noon and wanted to know if I would like him to come over and lend a hand on the project. Well I was projecting to get off in the morning but a call from the boss and having to get a couple things done kept me working till about noon myself. I then went to the post office and afterwards went by the hangar to check in on Ralph that was working on his "Purple Problem" RV8 project in his hangar. We ended up talking and I assisted him with a couple of things....in the meantime Rob called said he was fixin to leave and was going to stop at Messicks and get a sandwich....well we all ended having lunch there and Rob and I got to the house and started the project around 1530....but it was an enjoyable lunch!

Well....I was going to be sanding on fiberglass parts but since Rob was going to work the baffles I decided to finish the snorkel and the attachment flanges. I put the rest of the nutplates on them and riveted them to the snorkel. I was one rivet short of what I needed....it is easy to put on later after I order some.

Rob in the meantime worked putting the powder coated baffles on the airplane. Rob always does a great job and has a true "mechanical" persona that is able to see how to work things and is very dexterous at handeling the parts and tools. You watch him work and he get's in the zone..you can tell he loves it!!! A little over three hours later the baffles were done!

Thanks again Rob for your assistance and side banter!
