Brief Description:  Snorkel and Brackets

Reordered the 3/4 degree shims for the landing gear today as the first set have seemed to take an excursion to the postal service Twilight Zone! I called Van's first thing in the morning and basically it came down to waiting for 21 days to see if the shims come in or order more via FEDEX and deal with the first shipment if it ever re-enters into our current dimension....

Continuing on with other tasks, Last night I had mixed a couple of batches of glaze.....the stuff has a LESS than five minute working time but works great to work the pinholes and surface flaws.

After setting up today all day during work, I got to taking some 220/320 sandpaper to work the surface...the pinholes are disappearing and the surface coming nicely up to par.

I went into the shop and completed the nutplate locations on the snorkel brackets. I processed them with scotchbrite and then painted them with Krylon Colormaxx paint+primer. I really love this product...it is one process and it gasses off amazingly fast! I also put another coat of high build primer on the snorkel.

We are looking forward with much anticipation at the arrival at the end of the week of the astute Doctor Richard McBride DFM (Doctor of Fiberglass Methodology) who is coming to assist me with the canopy fiberglass work.....whoo hoo....he is the best!
