Brief Description: Cowlings, Wing Tips, and Fairings
Spent time on the fiberglass tonight. The lower cowl had some areas I had filled that I primed with rattle can prior to the trip to Florida.....so I sanded the primed areas and the overspray that covered the cowl.....the sandable / fillable primer makes a lot of grit.
I then got the wing tips and had to sand the molding seams and transitions. I used some perma-grit and some 150 grit sandpaper to get everything sanded and blended. I went on to the rudder and worked on getting the upper and lower fairing worked with blending them to the rudder. I used wide electrical tape to mask off the blend areas between the aluminum and the fiberglass.
The last thing I did before getting done for the night was to fill areas where SuperFil was needed for blending. Rather than hanging the counterweight over the table edge I felt it was safer to just do one side of the rudder and I will allow it to cure before doing the other side.
