With the wing bolts completed Rob and I worked on installing the aileron torque tubes and getting everything set up. Rob had finished putting on the elevators but I will make custom bushings for the spacers to avoid using multiple washers.
Meanwhile, back under the wing and at the wingtips mild mannered Ralph Kent the superman of all things electron related worked on the pitot tube wires, the servo wires for the autopilot, landing light wires, wing tip lights, and magnetometer. He was one busy guy quietly working clipping, routing, pinning, and sometimes rewiring connections. He kept busy going about his business a man with a purpose.
After getting out of the cockpit and stretching my old tired bones for a bit then Rob and I got busy on the aileron torque tubes and rigging. I once again took the inside and Rob fed the torque tubes into the area. We both adjusted our rod ends evenly until the bolts slipped in place, all while making sure the gages on the wingtip ends and the stick stayed in neutral. Rob had all the bolt hardware ready to go so in just a little while the controls and all connected and the rigging in place. That leaves only the flaps and the elevators and trim tab left to get done.
Many many many thanks to Rob and Ralph for all the fantastic assistance today....it was a banner day once again!!!
