Brief Description: Sand Top Cowl and Apply Filler to Parts
As I stated in a previous log the inside of the cowls didn't get completed due to running out of Eko-poxy primer. Either way I was going to give the cowls a second coat. I was running out of primer when completing the cowls and had a little dry spray on the top cowl which gives it a little gritty feel so I took some paper and wet sanded it to smooth it out. It sanded quick and easy but I am going to give it another coat when the new can of primer gets here.
All the other parts I primed got a good fog and wet coat so they should be fine. I will wet sand them and see if any touch up is needed. I had to do some very small areas with SuperFil to repair a few flaws but a quick spray will cover those areas.
When I did the lower cowl honeycomb area with SuperFil to remove the divots that the honeycomb make in the fiberglass I should have used it on the spinner and inlet areas as for some reason the weave was pronounced. Or I should have coated them with a couple more coats of Smooth Prime. Either way the fglass weave was showing through very slightly so I just laid a thin coat of SuperFil to rid them from the equation. I used a thin piece of plastic to spread it.....hopefully it will resolve the issue and they wiill be invisible with the next coat of primer. They weren't pronounced as it was.....but it bugged me so I did something about them!
Oh....BTW.....I surpassed the 4100 hour mark over 10 hours ago......what can I say....
