Today was our wedding anniversary so after work we went out for a good meal. Later in the evening I snuck out to the shop and worked for a little bit on sketching the left and right fuel tank brackets in order to keep things straight and not mess them up.
After finishing details on the drawings and adding a few dimensions I went to the programming interface for the CNC mill and began to program the base of the parts. I like these projects because it gets me to learn new capabilities and features on the CNC controller.
For this particular part I entered the program for the LEFT fuel tank bracket base. After working out the bugs in the program I went into the features and selected the "mirror" function. Having never used it before I had to play with it for a bit to see what the different parameters did as I changed them. After the fiddlin' with it I had a program for the left and right base portions and will program the other side contours for left and right.
