Brief Description:  Firewall Forward Items #1 - (cont)

After determining the mixture arm was satisfactory, we continued on with sundry items on the firewall forward.

The one item that lends itself to many adjustments is the breather tube. The tube allows the pressures that build up in the engine crankcase to be exhausted. Nothing high pressure here just a venting type pressure that keeps the crankcase vented. Without having the vent it would be possible for pressure to exert enough pressure to push oil out of nooks and crannies and even cause seals to be pushed out of location. So we fit and cut and fit and bent and fit some more till we had the tube in location. Then we got into close quarters and drilled and attached the tube with Adel clamps to the firewall. You can see the breather tube buried in picture #3 along the firewall.

After getting in the breather tube it was getting ignition wires and other engine wires tidied up and secured which Rob gave himself mostly to with my assistance with an extra hand for adel clamps occasionally.

Meanwhile I worked on cowling stuff and cowl pins. Another synergistic work session.....thanks again to Rob for his assistance!
