Brief Description:  Empennage Fairing and Misc

The biggest task during this session was sanding off the glass and micro that I applied to the empennage fairing. Everything set up well on the airplane but since some of the micro was applied to the vertical portions of the fairings where it went along the vertical stabilizer mating surfaces, there was some globs from the micro sagging a bit despite mixing a pretty dry batch. I used the sanding drum on my Dremmel tool to knock them down and then sanded the rest with course sandpaper. The fairing is really getting to the finish point.....just have a small amount of gaps to fill and finish processing the glass.

I had to change the dessicant in the plug dehydrators. I also had to fix some tape on the windscreen removed some and covered the windscreen again.

With the epoxy dried on the cowl pin covers I felt the covers could come out of the pockets a little more so I placed a couple washers on the back of each cover with double sided sticky tape and then placed plastic food wrap over the covers. I placed micro into the cover areas and clecoed the covers in place. This should add about 1/32 inch of height to the surface and push the covers out just about right......we will see!
