I started off checking out the cowl cover plugs which had cured well. I took the #6 screw drill and punched the holes where the nutplates would go.
I then went back to working the empennage fairing. I am only using three screws so I decided on the locations and then figured out where I would need a little more fglass and micro to get the fit just right. It fit well with all the screws and would have needed very little micro to get it fit but the problem is that many times using more screws causes the fairing to pucker over time. So I elected to just go with fewer screws and a little more glass.
The fairing is pretty stout to begin with and the extra glass will even make it more so. We will see what it looks like after the fairing cures in place.
