Brief Description: Landing Gear Wheel Fairings and Lower Cowl
Well my day continued with what had been the normal routine for quite a few shop sessions as you can see in the logs. I did some sanding on touch up spots on the lower cowl and then went to the last three wheel fairings that needed sanding......same old same old....
I also wire brushed my exhaust hangers I received from Clint at Vettermans. He made them a little wider spaced to my specs I sent him. This was done to accommodate the beefy heater muff I got for my cabin heat as the standard hangers were just a bit too narrow for the muff. Looks good now with the clearance.
I purchased some Black Oxide chemicals in order to use it on the metal hangers to be a rust preventative for the mild steel hangers. So wire brushing gets all the scale and stuff off that the black oxide will give a better finish. The black oxide process just coats the metal parts and provides a chemical oxidation but adds no dimensional changes to the parts. So this should do the trick to prevent rust.
All wheel fairing sanded....need just a little filler
