Brief Description:  Paint Snorkel, Sand Lower Cowl and Oil Door

The snorkel was ready for a top coat so I started with doing that. I really love the Krylon Colormaxx rattle paint that has paint and primer blend. I found a color called Pewter Gray that matches the interior very close and have some rattle cans for matching panels when needed. So the snorkel was painted and put up to cure.

Next got to sanding on the lower cowl that has three coats of Smooth Prime on it. I was interested to see how the honeycomb area turned out since I skim coated and sanded the whole honeycomb area with Superfil in order to overcome the persistant and annoying divots that the honeycomb produces when trying to get the cowl finished.

The result was the Superfil worked amazing and covered the divots with fantastic results. It did surprise me that the area's without the honeycomb had some fglass weave that I thought the Smooth prime would have covered with the three roller coats I applied but it looks like I may need another coat or two to get the course weave filled in. Much better and less work than the top cowl that I am still working on!!! Had to finally stop the cowl as I ran out of sunlight.

Lastly I worked on the oil door where I have to prep it to put filler around the factory recess around the oil door with filler.....still got more work to do.
