Hit it again yesterday. Weather once again cooperated albiet on a little cooler side but that is good to keep me from sweating. Rob asked me what I was doing and offered to come over and I told him I was concentrating on my sanding of the parts. He said he would come over and find something to do.....that works for me!!!
Anyway..,,I continued working on the snorkel. I absolutely love the Smooth Prime....it sands really good, but they tell you to limit the sandpaper to no courser than 400 grit. It works fine but just takes a little more time....but it leaves a surface as smooth as a baby's bottom! I got the snorkel done. I find the direct sunlight really helps to find the imperfections and finally got them all sanded. I cleaned it and sprayed a coat of primer sealer on it.....wow....the surface looks fantastic...no pinholes! I will put a topcoat on it this week. It will be the nicest thing that people will NEVER see haha.
I took the upper cowl back outside since I finished last session in dwindling light. Found some areas that needed more attention....and some more divots on the top. After finishing the sanding I put some Evercoat filler on to cure.
I went on to the landing gear fairings and got both of them sanded but in dwindling light so I will give them a look over next session.
