Brief Description:  Empennage Components

I was working in the shop and Rob texted me that he could come over again today and lend a hand....I gratefully accepted his offer!!! He then called me a few minutes later and said another airport bum that had just completed building an RV-14 and is in Phase 1 testing was looking for something to do on this Sunday....so he came over also for a bit to lend a hand!

Dustin mainly worked the rudder caps on the top and bottom to get them ready for riveting by countersinking and trimming them a bit. He got them completed by the time he had to leave for the day.

Rob got back to working on the empennage intersection fairing. The fairing has scribed lines for rough cutting and fitting. Rob got on the task of sanding and shaping the emp fairing and taking care of the fitting with the metal panels that go underneath the horizontal stabilizer and the access panel covers that go in the rear of the fuselage.

I was hunting up parts and hardware and being gopher for Rob and Dustin and working a bit on the forward baggage door. By the end of the session we made more progress down the road toward completion!!!

A heartfelt thanks to Rob and Dustin for the help and camaraderie in the build!
