I removed the plastic and tape that covered the airplane since Rick was here and I finally finished sanding and priming the windscreen fairing. I have to paint the underside of the fairing on the bow and so I left the plastic on in case I needed it but I decided there is no good reason to do so and wanted to get it all cleaned up so off it all came.
I then used the vacuum and a bucket and rags to clean off all the dust and wipe down the sides of all the sanding residue. All the cleanup took up mostly half of this work session but it cleaned up everything nicely.
Moving on I went to the aileron trim. As I worked it I noticed the cable end on the left console handle was scraping the panel and causing quite a bit of interference. I decided to make the inboard spacer thicker and changed the outboard spacer and washer set up with a smaller and thinner spacer. I also needed to put a washer between the adel clamp that holds the Boden cable itself to the panel in order to move it a little ways away from the panel. Everything worked well and the cable has good clearance and no rubbing.
Finally, I took my LPS 2 and lubed all the rod end connections and cable for the trim in final preperation for putting the left console together.
