I got in the shop and worked on getting the throttle quadrant knob made. I chucked up the 1 1/2 diameter aluminum stock I planned to use for it into the lathe. I had to grind a tool to put the 1/8 inch radius between the different diameters for a smooth transition.
Ready to go I durned the diameters and drilled and tapped the threaded hole and finally knurled the actual knob large diameter for giving it a better gripping surface when using it.
I then made an Acetel plastic washer in order to not have metal to metal contact between the washer on the quadrant and the face of the knob. Acetel is very tough and has great wear properties.
I made the knob wide enough ( about 3/8" wide) for easy gripping and handling. I am goin to try to get it hard anodized in black.
