Brief Description:  1-Throttle Quad

Back into the shop today after two weeks of travel. I wanted to get back on the throttle install.

I removed the throttle quad that was sitting in the airplane from last session after making numerous adjustments and modifications.....the majority of items in experimental aircraft are not "plug n play" but rather require adjustments and modifications.

Anyway I wanted to get the placard that I received for the throttle quadrant on in order to get the throttle quad installed permanently. It isn't as easy as threading the quad levers through the slots in the placard....it involves dismanteling the quad and inserting the levers one at a time from the top. I received the placard from Aircraft Engravers where Colorado Rick had already went through the process of getting one made for his identical quad like mine. That made it simple on my end....thanks Rick!!!

The placard is .032 thick. Rick mentioned that he made clips because the stiffness of the plastic overlay may cause the adhesive to lose it's bond and potentially to jam the throttle.....somewhat remote but not improbable. I felt the clips that he mentioned were a good idea. So I modified the quad with small angles clamping the placard using 4-40 screws.

When disassembling the quadrant I noticed the center barrel holding the quad levers had a bolt that was captured in order to hold the bolt from turning when tightening the nut...but the whole barrel turned. (continued on next post)
