Brief Description:  Throttle Quadrant and Aileron Trim

Rob came over once again and lent a hand which always lends a nice push on the project.

We got back to the throttle quadrant. When building the console and throttle quad mount I of course designed it with all the available information that I had at the time. For example the engine control cables weren't even close to being installed so I designed and built everything to work properly and try to anticipate potential problems that may arise. For the most part the design was very sound......but we found it would take some tweaking to get it complete!

The work session today involved dealing with a chain of items that would require some modifications that actually kept my brain so concentrated that I forgot to take photos during the course of the session. The mods included things like: moving the cable support bracket to above its mounting area on the left fuselage wall, trimming 1/16 inch from the four spacers that mount the throttle, make multiple adjustments and re-adjustments for the throttle-mixture-prop control-and rear throttle cable and rod adjustments, adjusting the rod bearing on the prop governor, machining the clevis fork for the throttle, machining two cable jam nuts into small pattern nuts, removing a nutplate from the quadrant, modifying one of the brackets on the left console skeleton......and other small misc items like solving a prop control binding issue. By the end of the day everything was close to completion and working smoothly!

We also got the cotter pins and springs on thus completing the aileron trim....just need to make a little clearance on the left side trim area......a great day of work and actual progress if not visible progress.
