Brief Description:  Aileron Trim Cable

Got out in the shop a bit tonight and continued working on the aileron trim.

I had to trim back the outer sheathing on the cable a couple inches to get the inner cable accessable for connecting the handle and the rod.

I had to get a place for the cable to pass through the floor in order to make it up to the trim handle on the side panel of the cockpit area. I got the 3/8 hole drilled into a location where it wouldn't interfere with the nutplate and carefully drilled the location with a #40 drill then a step drill.

Vans gives you a short piece of 1/2 poly tube to protect the cable and the fuselage in the pass through area. The poly tube is really too big and I had some 1/4 X 3/8 poly that slid over the cable perfectly and worked a lot better. I got the cable and poly through the hole and with the longer piece it will protect the cable from rubbing on anything.

I have to get the length nailed down some more clamps and VA-159 nylon washers that I haven't found in the hardware bag.....but those are easy enough to make if needed.
