Brief Description: Sand, Cowl Landing Gear Fairings & Clean up
Yesterday I got into the shop and started by sanding the left side of the upper cowl where I had placed some micro along the hinge line.
Next I went to the landing gear fairings. I had sanded the primed the landing gear fairings but something went wrong with the primer. It had a poor texture on it and never really gassed off right. When I tried sanding it the surface got a bit gummy. The fairings have been sitting for a week or so and I took sandpaper to them and removed the primer to get them down to the bare surface. It took a bit of time and elbow grease but I got them cleaned up. I am going to use the Smooth Prime on them next and see what happens.
My stand doubled as a workbench during working the engine control cables was cluttered with tools and hardware so I felt I needed to get it cleaned up which was my final task for the evening.
