Tonight right after work my wife and I had scheduled to have a little "jam"session. We had picked strawberries last Friday and we had to get them made into strawberry jam so that was first thing on the docket after work today......we ended up with almost 12 quarts of jam!!
When all the work and cleanup was complete it was berry nice to head outside to get a little shop time.
Since I had limited time I decided to work the engine control cables. I pulled the ends out from the cockpit area and slid the pieces of firesleeve over the other two cables. I felt putting the firesleeve over the cables would hopefully protect them from heat in the engine area since these cables are not specifically made for aircraft. I had never put the snap bushings into the gear tower pass thru holes so I put them in.
I then routed the three control cables back into the cockpit area through the gear tower. It is a bit of a pain to get done solo as it required jumping in and out of the cockpit to feed the cables and then jump out to feed more cable into the airplane.....but I eventually got all three in as well as my cardio exercise!!
One final task was to shoot a little primer on the windscreen fairing where the primer came off during my scotch bright working of the fairing.
