Brief Description:  Canopy Sand & Micro

I had a doctor appointment early this morning. We planned on getting the canopy opened when I returned around 0900, but when I informed Rick that I was on my way back he responded with a photo of the open canopy????!!!! He was able to get it open solo! We had used clay to seal the space between the canopy and the windscreen and it worked perfectly....no resin leaked inside!

Next we proceeded to perform a LOT OF SANDING! Took us several hours to get the bow sanded to the top tape layer. After we got the overall sanding complete Rick worked the front radius fillet while I tended to cleaning up and stuff.....it makes a mess!

Next we measured and cut the back of the excess fiberglass on the bow. We measured carefully to make certain the bow fairing "looked right" by measuring to make sure the black sika primer was covered on the canopy portion when closed. The canopy front edge will not be seen but the bow fairing will be so the importance was placed on the bow fairing being straight and correct.

Then it was time for laying a nice coat of micro and letting it dry till tomorrow.
