Brief Description:  Top Cowl Hinges and Tape Cowl

Back in the shop tonight I took the hinge halves I removed from the top cowl and began to mark out holes to cut for allowing the Pro-seal to form liquid rivets on the hinges to assist in holding the hinges in place with all the wind and vibration in the cowling area. I actually purchased soft rivets to attach the hinges....but Vans recommends using epoxy or pro-seal to additionally help in bonding the hinges and adding strength.

Also I failed to mention on Sunday my friend Rob came over to "help" with a work session. The problem is that I am trying to get back in the shop after focusing only on the baffle and wrap my head around the next courses of action.

Rob and I spoke of the windscreen coming to a place where we need to consider bonding it to the airframe. We did pull the canopy out of the basement and put it on the airplane. The rest of the session involved looking and talking about elements of the project....canopy, windscreen, engine control cables, etc etc. No real work accomplished but the brainstorming sessions are always great for resetting where you are and where youi need to go in the project!

Thanks Rob!
