Brief Description: Aeroled Landing and Navigation Lights
I made another check of the landing lights and the perimeter spacing around the lights. There were a few places that I felt needed a bit more clearance so I marked the areas with my Sharpie. I removed the landing lights and took some time to remove the material and sand the landing light areas that needed the material removed.
Next I went on to get the navigation / strobe lights installed on the wingtip. As I read through the instructions I didn't quite like how the nav lights were sitting so I made adjustments to locate them where I felt they needed to be. It was just a small adjustment but it made the position look a lot better.
The left wing tip had to be sanded quite a bit due to the wing tip parting line that had a lot of the seam sticking up so I took it out to the shop for a while and got it all sanded so I could get the nav light bracket to sit flat.
With the brackets instaled I measured the 1.03 distance for the wires in the nav light to pass through and bored the 1/2 inch hole. I removed the brackets and hardware for now since the wingtips will need a lot of sanding and finishing. I did not use nutplates, I decided instead to use #6 screws with thin washers and a 364 nylock nut.
