Got started on the hinges for the right wing tip that needed to be deburred in 144 holes.
I am going to use some proseal between the hinges and fiberglass wing tip to add addional strength to the attachment so all the stress isn't placed on the rivets. It is possible that any movement between the hinge and the wingtip can begin to "work" the rivets and over the period of hours of fun filled RV-8 adventures they can get loose and even pull a head through the fiberglass wingtip. The result would be having to make repairs that would keep me from adventures haha
Having said that, I decided that I would try to limit the proseal mess by taping off the hinge area where I will spread the proseal. When you squeeze rivets it will spread anyway but I am going to try to limit the mess by taping and putting a thinner layer of proseal in between the rivet holes so as not to get proseal geysers all over the place and making cleanup a big chore. Anyway that's the plan and hopefully it isn't an exercise in futility.....we will see.
