Brief Description:  GIB Stick Modification for PTT (cont)

I completed the pin holders using the dimensions from a Molex plug for the diameters and then getting the bore lengths correct for pin connection. The male pins will be in the removable stick side and the female in the lower part of the stick control that stays in the aircraft. The lower part will rest on the bolt in the stick weldment and the upper stick will be set so that the two faces of the delrin will touch when the stick is fully inserted.

So that was the next step. Taking measurements I decided exactly where I wanted to place the hole for the pin that will hold the stick halves together. After deciding that I placed the lower stick weldment into the machine vise and placed the hole through the stick weldment. Next I placed the upper stick into the lower portion and drilled the hole through the upper stick. I made sure to insert the lower delrin since there is about a 1/16 flange on that delrin that will raise the stick a little so without that installed the hole wouldn't match up after completion.

Finall, I set the upper stick delrin in the stick and used the lower delron part to set the depth for the location of the upper stick delrin. I made sure the pin holes were perpendicular to the release pin hole and set it in the lower stick once again and drilled through the upper delrin.

The stick is ready for the pins and wiring to be added along with the grip. I am getting a different pin than in pic 3 below for holding the stick on but I had one in my box of misc hardware to use for fitting.
