I cut the ground cable to an acceptable length (whatever that is), and crimped/soldered a lug to the open end—added some heat shrink. I installed the battery and tray once again then connected the ground cable to the mount on the longeron and the other end to the battery. Looks good to me. I removed the battery and tray. Next I crimped/soldered a lug to another piece of #2 cable—this cable is darn stiff to work with. I bolted the lug to the master contactor and measured where to cut the other end that connects to the positive side of the battery.
