Tonight was more work on the F881 console plate—this time to add a Hobbs meter. I laid out a template on some scrap and then used the scrap to transfer the pattern to the console plate. I opened the center with a unibit, then used a nibbler to get close to the edges. Finished by filing to the final trim line. After I got the meter to fit, I match drilled the mounting holes using the meter as a guide. Will run some wires and call it good. I also ran a couple of wires to the terminal block where the front & rear stick wiring connections are made. I connected a wire to the rear stick ground wire. This wire will be connected to a small toggle switch. With this switch I can lock out the functions of the rear stick without having to disconnect the plug that connects the grip wires to the terminal block.
