Continuing on with the nav/strobe wire connection, I had previously run the 3 conductor shielded cable from the tail to the terminal strip and from there on to the panel. I terminated the 3 wires from the tail with ring terminals and used a solder sleeve for connection to the braided shield. After connecting the wires from the tail, I made the connection from the panel area. This run took one less wire-don’t need the strobe sync to the panel. Next I terminated the wires at the panel area—added the nav and strobe to the VP-X and terminated the braided shield to the forest of ground tabs by using another solder sleeve. Checked continuity between the tail and panel using an ohm meter. Everything checked out. Later on, after the wings are on, should be a simple matter to add the nav/strobe wiring to the terminal block.
