Brief Description:  Mic/Phone jack wiring-2

I soldered the phone and mic wires to jacks tonight. Also added in the PTT wiring from the sticks. I added a small push button switch in parallel with the rear PTT stick switch. My thinking is whenever the rear stick is removed for whatever reason, the rear seater can still activate the radio by the second button. All of the connections were soldered and then heat shrink tubing applied. After I finished the soldering and shrinking, I tested the circuitry with an ohm meter. The PTT on both stick work ok—however, the secondary PTT switch did not work. I removed the shrink tubing (no small task) and shorted across the terminals—continuity ok at the mic jack, so much be the switch. I unsoldered and removed the switch—checked with the meter. Dang it—bad switch. I don’t recall checking the switch before soldering the wires to it—maybe I cooked the inside or something. Anyhow, I will have to source another switch before I can call the mic/phone jacks done.
