Finally something to put in my log. I’ve decided my next task is to get the fuse up on the gear. I retrieved my bullet proof box that the Grove gear was shipped in from the storage facility. Unpacked the gear and spent some time on VAF reading everything I could regarding gear installation as well as analysis of various nuts, bolts and washers. In the end I concluded that the hardware shipped with the Grove gear should be more than adequate. I installed the outer and inner gear brackets with the nuts just finger tight. One thing I noticed is that the MS141836-6 washers (supplied by Grove)for the bolts in the towers are of a smaller diameter than the stock Van’s washers. The MS141836-6 washers seem to fit in the channel much better. Next, I need to get the fuse elevated at least a foot or so to slip in the gear legs. Sure didn’t take long to remember how much fun it is working inside the gear towers!
