While setting one of the rivets on the last nutplate, it set proud. Drilled it out and set it again—proud again. Drilled it out once more and tried again-success. Drilled a #44 hole in the bolt that attaches the cable to the slide tube. I assembled the mounting plate , the arm that actuates the cable and the Bowden cable. What fun that cable was! Installed the slide tube and springs—the very, very stiff springs. As reported on VAF, the springs are noisy, however it appears a remedy is to put a tie wrap on each side of the spring where it attaches to the control tube.
