Began work on the pitch servo mount. I am planning on a Skyview system and Dynon servos. Michael Elliott RV-8A QB has an excellent write up on the Dynon servo installation on his website. Thanks Mike! A couple of changes have been made since Mike’s installation. On the QB fuse the four rivets in the support rib that would interfere with the forward end of the Dynon brackets have been changed to flush rivets—no longer have to trim the forward end of the Dynon brackets. As for the Dynon brackets, the sharp angle on the back side of the bracket has been radiused so that it nests in the radius of the formed rib/bracket. Using my dremel, I removed a small portion of the F808 bulkhead where the Dynon brackets extend past the bulkhead, smoothed up the cut and bolted the brackets in place. Made a template and laid out rivet pattern to transfer to Dynon bracket. Laid template over the formed rib/bracket to make sure edge distance would not be an issued. Transferred holes in the template to the bracket and drilled bracket to #40. Tomorrow I will flip the template and drill the other bracket.
