Brief Description:  Fitting VA-111 into W-816 Pushrod Tube

Spent tonight getting one VA-111 end to fit one W-816 tube. This was really a slow process. I screwed a rod end into one of the VA-111 pieces and clamped the rod end in a vice. Used a strip of emery cloth to verrrryyyy slowly sand the VA-111 and then polished with very fine sand paper. I used this same process on the inside of the W-816 tube. Checked the fit—too tight. Repeated the process many times until I thought I would be able to force the VA-111 into the W-816 tube. Marked a line on the VA-111 at .25” and tapped it into the tube. Then match drilled the holes to #40, followed by 1/8”, and finally with a #30 reamer. To remove the end piece, I used a long piece of pvc pipe to tap the VA-111 out of the tube. Deburred and polished both pieces. Will repeat this entire process 3 more times. Really hope to finish with the W-816 tubes before next spring!
