Brief Description:  Bottom rudder cap-15

Early this AM, I mixed up a batch of micro/resin and spread it on the mounting flange of the rudder. Then I slipped the fiberglass cap on and clecoed it in place. Used CS4-4 rivets to attach the cap, then used a credit card to spread out the micro that squished out of the joint. Tonight the micro was cured, so I sanded the joint and mixed up a batch of resin. I wet out a piece of .003” thin fiberglass tape and covered the joint. Covered the tape with peel ply. After it dried a bit I pulled the peel ply. Tomorrow I’ll lightly sand the joint and apply micro—then begins the dance—add micro, sand it off, add micro, sand it off.
