Brief Description:  Empenage tips--L & R Elevators, VS & Rudder

Clecoed on the right elevator tip and drilled the holes up to #30. Removed tip, and put a c/s in the glass, then used the squeezer to dimple the elevator skin. Had to use pop rivet dimpler to get the two holes at the trailing edge. Mixed up some micro and applied to the flange on the tip. Attached tip with CS4-4 pop rivets. With left over micro, I applied to the right HS tip. Made another sanding on the VS and rudder tip, then shot another coat of sanding primer. After the primer dried, I lightly sanded with 400 grit. Found one small spot on the rudder that needs attention, but calling the VS tip done. Made another sanding of the left elevator tip, then shot it with sanding primer. After the micro cured from attaching the tip, I cut a piece of .003” thick glass tape and wet it out with a brush. Applied this the the joint on the elevator tip. Also applied some peel ply over the glass. Must be the higher temps but the epoxy seems to have a much short pot life—gotta move much quicker than when the temps were cooler.
