Brief Description:  VS & Rudder Tips-3

I ruffed up the aluminum strips that will be used as backing for the rudder tip. Then mixed up some T-88 adhesive and glued the strips inside the tip. Used lots of clamps & clecoes. That sticky stuff gets on everything—just like proseal. Spent a good deal of time cleaning up tools etc. Fortunately, acetone works pretty well at removing the residue. I made another trim of the VS tip, so the back end lines up with the notch in the tip rib. Went to Lowes Aviation department and found some foam that was broken off of a large sheet—nice gents just gave it to me. I traced the outline of the aft end of the VS tip on the foam and cut it out. I sanded the foam until I had a decent fit in VS tip, mixed up some T-88 and glued it in. Left about 1/8” space at the back for glass, epoxy and whatever. Next session, I suppose I’ll try my hand at laying in some fiberglass.
