Brief Description:  Snorkel and #2 baffle work-4

Work continues on the #2 baffle assembly and the air filter installation. I fabbed up the hold down plates to secure the air filter—all made from .040 stock. The inboard mount is a flat plate, the outboard is a piece of angle that came in the snorkel mounting kit and the aft plate was flat which I put in a slight bend to angle it downward. I drilled up the mounting holes for the inboard and outboard to #19, then used my nutplate jig to drill holes for the rivets on the outboard side baffle—then put a light c/s in the baffle for NAS rivets. Also dimpled the other holes in the outboard bracket where it will be riveted to the side baffle. All holes have now been drilled up to 1/8” and deburred. I’ll ream them to #30 tomorrow and hope to finish up the nutplate mounts. I want to cleco everything together in its final configuration and make sure I can remove and install the baffles and brackets as a unit before I rivet the whole mess together.
