I clecoed the upper and lower cowlings together and re-drilled a hole in the nose inlet that I had previously drilled and then filled—needed to move the center of the hole. I received some cowl pin covers today and I marked the right side—I need to do some work on the left side before going any further with the pin cover. The cowl halves don’t match up very evenly on the left side where the cowl curves around to the inlet—the upper half overhangs the lower by 3/8”. I laid up some packing tape on the upper half then mixed up a batch of resin/flox to build up the lower cowl and transition into a smooth joint. I did the same on left side, lower half of the nose ring. Looks like lots of sanding and more goop to get this cowling whipped into shape.
