Today I cut the flanges off of both wing tips. I cut some foam inserts to hold the shape of the tip, then clamped the tip to my work table. I used some steel scrap to act as a guide for cutting –used some side clamps to secure to the tip. Then, I used my dremel with a thin cutoff wheel to trim off the flange. I lightly sanded the edge of the wing tip. I did this for both flanges on each wing tip. I clecoed the cut off flange to the p4 hinge and machine counter sunk all holes in the cut off strip to nest with the dimples in the wing skin. This strip will act as a spacer on the wing side to get the p3 and p4 hinge pieces into alignment.
