Brief Description:  Fitting the Canopy Frame to the Fuselage 1

After installing the shims and getting the canopy to open I started examining the fit more expecially the gap between the two skins.

As is the pilot side gap is greater than the co-pilot side. The co-pilot is about 0.04 inches. The plans recommend keeping this gap between 0.02 and 0.032, but several logs say this gap needs to be about 0.06 to accommodate paint later and to avoid the skins hitting upon opening.

I've noticed in the plans and drawings that I really need to finish the fit of this gap now before proceeding. I'd like the gap to be about 0.05 and same along its entire length, on both sides.
