I re-installed the latch pin mechanism and with all the skins off I put the frame on. The pins went right through the holes just fine. And the frame opened with only a little scraping on the flange. I filed and sanded the flanges per plans to remove any interferences.
I put the skins back on and the gap was about .02 to 1/8 inch on one side. It did not fit the way it did prior to drilling. Here are some thoughts.
1) The co-pilot side seems fine. 2) The pilot side opens to about an 1/8 gap on the outside. Top is fine. I think this issue is because I drilled the co-pilot side to tight and I can fix this by moving the hole forward slightly when I drill for the bushings
With skins on it doesn't open at all. Bummer. Gotta think about this.
