Brief Description: Firewall - Make F-601J angles 1
Started the fuselage today. I follow the plan from Van's starting with the firewall. But I didn't get very far. I first searched and found all the parts and raw materials for the firewall. This took awhile because I couldn't figure out that they expect you to cut the 8 inch stiffener from the 6 foot piece of angle. I was looking for an 8 inch piece. I guess I better get use to the idea of making parts from long pieces of angle.
Next day I measured and marked and cut the first pieces which are some angle brackets for the lower part of the firewall. Well you can see in the photo that my cuts screwed up. I was using my band saw and it went crazy cutting where it wanted to. I couldn't stop it or steer it and it compromised the 3 inch length. So, I examined my band saw because this cannot continue.
