Brief Description:  Wiring the radio and intercom

As easy as the transponder and ADS-B were to wire, the radio and intercom turn out not to be. It involves wiring the 15 pin remote radio module, the 15 pin radio panel, the 25 pin intercom, and even more wiring in the Skyview 37 pin harness, and most pins are used. To make it more difficult, these radios just came out on the market, and there doesn’t exist the best documentation or information out there on it. But I just took it one wire at a time, and after about 10 hours, I had it just about wired and ready to test. I was happy at the end of the day through all that complicated wiring, everything seem to work except the Push-To-Talk and I have a grounding issue because there some audible buzzing. I am able to hear ATC at the local airport, and I hear all the Skyview system talk now, along with other components like the Power Buss. Hopefully won’t take too long to work through those issues, because once the radio works right, I think I can say I’m finally done with wiring (after six months!). Next will be to transfer everything from the temporary panel into the permanent one I’ll fly with.
