Brief Description:  Beginning of fitting the cowling

So, I've got to make and fit the engine cowling... I haven't looked forward to this, because I'm a highly logical person, and this involves a lot of art, but little logic. There's no specification that says drill here, measure here... you've just got to keep drilling and shaping and testing, until it either fits, or you've ruined an expensive piece.

I have previously had the shells painted with the airplane. I first just drilled 3/4" holes right in the center of where the mounts go, then tried it out to see how far off I was. I was far off. There are large rubber grommets that go in those holes, but not until you've enlarged the holes a bit over an inch in diameter, so the key now is to use the Dremel tool to sand away the fiberglass in the direction it needs to go to fit better with the other half. This led to two complete days of making small changes, then mounting the cowling to test the change... probably about 40 times.

Before I got too far with this, I figured out that I better go ahead and add the hinges to both sides that hold them together, so that's what I did next before making anymore cuts.
