Brief Description:  Designing the forward access panel templates

I rough-drew the panel, which will be 8"x10". Each panel will sit on the inner flanges of a doubler riveted to the top skin. The doubler's inner flange shelf will extend 3/4" into the access hole, and the panel will attach to this shelf with #8 flat screws and platenuts. The doubler will have 2 inches of overlap into the top skin's bottom surface. I'll rivet the doubler to the skin with two rows of 426AD3 flush rivets spaced by 3/4". This is a lot of rivets, but I'm reinforcing them to contribute to the top skin's role as a stressed-skin part of the structure.
