I'm installing AeroLED lights. While I wait for the sheet Alclad to arrive from Aircraft Spruce, I went ahead and positioned/marked/drilled/installed the nut plates. Image 1 shows the a small right-scaled template from the AeroLED installation paperwork. I marked four holes: Three for the mounting bracket (image 3) and one for the larger wire pass-through. I then riveted the nut plates into the wingtip with #3 flush rivets.
