Brief Description: Install second tube frame
|
|
1. Clecoed gusset 6B21-8 to shoulder harness fitting 6B21-3.
2. Back drilled with #30 bit, and clecoed.
3. Deburred and primed parts.
4. Riveted with A4 rivets.
5. Protected centerline marking on aft tube frame with transparent tape.
6. Marked 1" increments on either end of tube frame to facilitate removal of equal amounts from each end.
7. Removed increments, 1" at a time, with fit checks in between.
8. Overshot length, and had to scrap part.
9. Repeated steps 1-3 with new part, and used tube cutter for material removal.
10. When part was nearly the correct length, contoured ends to match installed contour.
11. Clamped parts in place.
12. Back drilled tube to gusset 6B21-8, and clecoed.
13. Clecoed front of 6B21-3 to fwd longerons 6B11-1, and clamp rear.
14. Fit checked tube alignments.
Note: This was a pat-your-head, rub your tummy alignment task, as witnessed by the scrappage and time required to complete.
