Brief Description: Rework elevator attachment to fuselage
When an attempt was made to temporarily install the elevator, so the rear skin could be cut to match, an error was discovered. Part 6T2-3 had been incorrectly fabricated, and riveted to the elevator assembly.
1. Drill out rivets holding 6B2-3 in place, and remove the old part, along with shim 6HD. 2. Order the material used to fabricate 6B2-3. 3. On receipt, cut necessary material from 6B2-3. 4. Using 6HD as a template, backdrill the mounting holes in 6T2-3. 5. Deburr, clean up, and prime with zinc chromate primer. 6. Open elevator skin, and remove head of drill-out rivets. 7. Re-seal skin. 8. Install 6T2-3 and 6HD with cleoes, and rivet with A5 rivets.
