1. Examined nuts, bolts, and misc engine hardware for corrosion, etc. 2. Began removing surface corrosion with CLR bath. 3. Rinsed hardware in MEK acoustic bath. 4. Much hardware remains to clean.
The new starter has a slightly different form factor than that previously installed. There is an STC to install the starter on this engine. The drawings to the STC were followed to make the modification.
1. Cut starter pinon, Continental part # 23487, with cut off wheel per Sky-tec dwg 71200. 2. Operation performed outside the crankcase, so the precautions shown on the drawing were unecessary. 3. Cleaned party in MEK and stored.
