Brief Description:  Primed skirt and windscreen

It was a good day; it is always nice when you see big changes. I sanded the canopy skirt until I was happy with the finish. There are a couple of low spots that could use more filler but I will leave that work to the painter. Consulting with my painter I will spray on PPG K36 primer and not sand it. This should seal and protect the epoxy under it. Normally one would want to use DPLF epoxy primer then immediately spray the K36, the epoxy primer provides adhesion to the epoxy resin and the K36 sticks well to the DPLF. I am by no means an expert, this is my first time using this stuff but his is what I have learned. The clear epoxy resin finish is good but the primer will add a layer and act like a sealer while I fly for a few months before paint.

I sprayed 3 coats; there was some cursing before I found the right pressure and flow. I let each coat sit 10 minute before the next coat. After it setup for 45 to an hour I pulled off all the tape and cleaned up the tape residue. I must say I am please how well it turned out. I hope the painter appreciates the amount of work I am doing.

The good part is that spraying on the primer was the last thing I wanted done before I move it to the airport, I still have plenty I can do from home but I will move to the airport as soon as I can work that out. It will be a big move since not only will I move the plane but also my workbench and tools.
